Ukiah's abilities are put to the test when police request his assistance in tracking a missing boy who has a habit of getting lost and being found in unusual places. The authorities fear that the kid's latest disappearance may be linked to a series of kidnappings.   Then suddenly, Ukiah finds himself under scrutiny by Homeland Defense. Agents found a member of the cult known as the Temple of New Reason with photographs of Ukiah. The government suspects that a connection exists between the sect and Ukiah, one even he can't identify.   But before Ukiah can investigate the cult's interest in him, his own son is abducted. Now, with government agents watching his every move, he must track down the kidnappers--and pray that they're not the alien Ontongard looking for revenge.… (altro)

Ukiah's son is kidnapped by a religious cult who are killing Ontongard and using Ontongard machines in a plan to wipe them out, but will actually kill all humanity.

Kittanning is kidnapped and Ukiah has to find him. Sam arrives in Pittsburgh and helps out Max and Ukiah along with Rennie and the Pack. I"ll have to get Dog Warriors to find out where it goes. ( )

A whole new angle on the Ontongard threat - Ukiah and the Pack are not their only enemies. Unfortunately, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" really doesn't apply. The excitement starts with Kitt's kidnapping and goes off in some seriously hairy directions. The Founts are a little too abstract to be scary, but Core and his lot provide plenty of scary - they're just plain nuts. I like Hutchinson - he might yet become a friend. And Ukiah starts putting into action some of that growing up he did in Tainted Trail. Lots of character growth, from a lot of people in a lot of directions. Heck, Kitt does some (mental) growing up, himself. ( )

Aliens are among us - and yes, most of them do want to kill us. Unfortunately for the human race, our own species is pretty much intent on the same thing, under the misguided assumption that they're wiping out demons.... Barely recovered from their adventures among family out West, Max and Ukiah are called in on a missing child case - the police think the toddler's disappearance may be linked to a string of kidnappings. When Homeland Security takes a hand and a cult seems to be targeting Ukiah for something more deadly than recruitment, things heat up fast.

Fast paced, edge of your seat stuff - can't wait to see what happens next. Too many escaped cultists and those missing alien machines.... ( )

Book three about Ukiah Oregon suffers the sameweakness as the previous novel; the need to introduce new readers to the backstory - forcing "old" readers to read clumsily introduced summaries of earlier events.
Still an engaging read, with interesting characters. The spped with which the story unfolds leave little time for interpersonal interaction, and the characters are less developed.

Ukiahs son is kidnapped, as has 4 other children been, and the kidnappers are in posession of alien bio weapons. Ukiah discovers that the kidnappers are members of a cult centered around killing "demons" - which is how they perceive the hostile aliens - and having drug enhanced sex using poison produced by one of the bio weapons. The kidnappers aim is to use the kidnapped children to activate another one of the bio weapons. ( )
