Hawkeye finally gets a lead on the top-secret case that brought her to Los Angeles in the first place - but to solve this mystery, Kate Bishop will have to take a good hard look at who she is and where she came from. Is she really ready to face the ghosts of her past? Maybe fixing things for a young client with oddly similar problems will help her fix herself! Probably not, though. At least she'll get to punch through her frustrations courtesy of the Worst. Fight. Club. Ever. But when her friends get in trouble and need a helping hand from Hawkeye, she always comes through - right? So when she doesn't, something must be really off. Who is this fake Kate, and what has she done with the real deal?… (altro)

Love this series! Kate is so funny (as she says herself, she’s awesome at making jokes), and her relationships with Detective Rivera, Lucky, and her new friends are so entertaining. I’m glad I decided to check out these books. ( )

Ugh. Madame Masque. I mean, I sorta guessed it was coming, but, actually having her in it. Ugh...

It starts though, with Kate walking into a trap on purpose, and most definitely being a little surprised by who is also in the trap. Then there's a bunch of fighting. Oh so much fighting, and not the fun arrow kind (there's some of that, just not a lot), but, hand and foot and face to hand combat. Not my favorite kind, but, Kate does keep quipping during it, so, that makes up.

And then there's Wolverine (Laura style), so, that was fun, although a bit bloody, but fun.

And then the almost end. Ouch. Then the actual end. Well... not surprised there. Can't have a Hawkeye title too long without him showing up. Ah well, he's not the worst I guess.... heh. ( )

My main problem with the first volume was that Kate Bishop was such a generic a character that almost any other character could have been plugged into the same story. This volume starts to reveal some of the past events that went into creating the heroic and adventurous young woman who has been bouncing through these pages.

I'm enjoying the story twists and humor, especially the self-deprecating bits about the overuse of clones. (I think there needs to be some similar acknowledgement that the writer is also overusing the scenario of Kate defeating an entire room of men in hand-to-hand combat in just a few seconds.)

And since I'm enjoying the book, I now find out that Marvel has canceled it already. They just did the same thing to me with [b:The Unstoppable Wasp, Vol. 1: Unstoppable!|33296489|The Unstoppable Wasp, Vol. 1 Unstoppable!|Jeremy Whitley|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1503775880s/33296489.jpg|54028420]! Aargh! ( )

“I have to stop saying ‘Bring It’ because then they do and it’s super annoying. Imma start saying ‘Leave It’ or whatever the opposite is.”

Fight Clubs, Madame Masque, and clones. What more could you ask for in a Kate Bishop comic? Of course, throw in her sass and bad (and often ill timed) jokes and you’ve got a hit!

This issue explains more of Kate’s daddy issues, and more about her mother, and more things about herself that come as a surprise. Wolverine (Laura) and Gabby make a cameo, but it really didn’t add anything to the story for me. Jessica Jones was in the last issue, but she helped Kate as a mentor and support system. The female Wolverine just seemed to make an appearance for appearance sake.

If you learn anything from this volume, it’s that superheroes can never have too many bags of frozen peas. ( )
