Keaton is one of the top black-hat hackers in the world, and Cassie is an FBI agent trying to bring him down, though not really because she gets sidetracked pretty quickly by his good looks and British charm. When he decides to give her some information she needs to take down a white supremacist cell, that puts him on the wrong side of the hacker community, and both Keaton and Cassie have to make changes in their lives that may split them apart. I loved King of Code (one of the previous books in the series). Harper and Taylor are such a good match because they're equals and complement each other. They have a real connection. While I liked Keaton and Cassie individually, I didn't like them as much as a couple. Part of it was the insta-romance without any real explanation of why. I found the first half of the book slow which would be fine if the story was building the relationship between the Keaton and Cassie, but it was more a series of vignettes detailing their lives and occasional meetings. Yep, they have great sex, but otherwise, it was too mysterious because they couldn't share their secrets. The other reason I didn't like them as a couple was they weren't equal or complementary. Cassie was more of a protege, doing whatever Keaton wants without much questioning. Her career is important, but not so much if being with Keaton indicates otherwise. It seemed as if the only way she could get ahead was if Keaton helped her. It's still a good read, but not up to the standard set by King of Code or even Prince Roman. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Keaton presents as this secretive man. Who is he? Why is wanting to appear to go straight? Why is he risking it all for Cassie? GADS! I waiver for him between RUN and CLING tight. There was just 'something about him'. Yes, as vague as that sounds you connect with Keaton and want him to get everything all the while not really know why you do. And Cassie. I love a strong heroine. This woman can bust balls with the best of them. She's not a whimpering, simpering heroine. Nope, she's got her own agenda and smart enough to get what she wants. But then her background is not lily white so now as a reader you aren't really sure who is the baddest possible bad guy at all. But sincerely the kicker? It is Keaton and Cassie's connection that seals the deal for the reader. It's instant. It's hot. It's well-written characters how can't keep their hands off each other nor can the reader off the book.
If you are a fan or a first time reader, you'll find yourself in love with the worlds CD Reiss creates. 5 out of 5 stars. ( )
