The title of this story, ‘Karma Bites’, works on several levels and I really liked the idea. Boyd lies, out of the desperate need to escape his cousin Coco’s advances, but he still lies—his “punishment" made me smile. Coco has her own little secrets but the truth will come out—so she gets bitten by karma as well. Harrison is just in it to help out his best friend—and to take just a tiny bit of revenge—and that creates the best karma of all!

Boyd is, above all else, an honorable guy. He comes back to help out his dad, never loses his patience with Coco even though she annoys and irritates him terribly, and ends up being pulled into one of her messes only to decide to help her no matter what. He also knows he can rely on his best friend Harrison to help, he just has no clue what that will lead to…

Harrison clearly deserves the title “best friend” since he goes along with what sounds like the craziest plan ever. Just like Boyd he thinks he isn’t gay, but the first kiss they share tells a different story. Well, he still isn’t gay, he is bisexual, but that isn’t the point. What happens next is entertaining, fun, and not to be taken too seriously.

If you like stories about best friends who suddenly discover they are more, by transforming their deep friendship into love once they add the physical aspect, and if you’re looking for a light read that is funny and hot, then you will probably like this short story.
