This is a cute picture book that uses cats as people. There is a little boy in who tells the story and he wants to be an astronaut who will go into space and learn more about it. We learn about the different things that they do while they are in space, who stays back on the planet and makes sure that they are safe. What transportation is used in space. As well as what other interesting things happen in space.

I thought this was a great book to introduce different ideas about space and space travel to children. Every time I elaborated on something, the book explained it on the next page. Particularly since we live near the Space and Rocket Center and so have seen some of the things in the book, it was a great book to read to my oldest. I liked that it talked about the solar system and had a diagram, something that other children's space books I've read didn't have. It went into just enough detail to capture her interest, but not so much detail as to overload her with information. ( )
