Short, sweet, brought a smile to my face. This was exactly what I wanted to read right now.

The characters felt real, the setting was nice, the world was believable, and the plot was good, if not mind blowing. This was more about loving and accepting love than action or getting from point A to point B.

Scorpio Hates Virgo is a simple story with a happy ending, that's well written and well paced. The relationship is adorable and very slow burn. I love how the author brings home what love (and falling in love) is about. So many romance authors seem to want you to think that lusting after someone means loving them, while those things don't necessarily have anything to do with each other. You can love someone without wanting them sexually, and you can lust after someone you don't particularly even like, not to mention care about. When you feel both for the same person, it's perfect, but not many authors know how to depict this without over emphasizing the part sex plays in the equation. I love how Sunday handles both sides, and this book did not disappoint.

I really like this series because while it has some conflict, it's the vanilla variety (if not almost French vanilla). The stories don't have characters struggling with mental illness or homophobic families or any major catastrophes, the conflicts are more the everyday variety that everyone battles with, like insecurity, heart ache, grief and generally just people lacking the courage to communicate frankly. In other words, the stories are very easy to relate to.

The only things I disliked about this book were the cover, and how short it was. I'm pretty sure the cover is going to put off some people who I'm sure would love the book if they gave it a chance. The book also had a lot of lovely side characters that I wouldn't have minded reading in more detail. All in all, this was my favorite read in a little while and I'm so glad I read it. ( )

A cute light read with plenty of snark. I liked Theo and Jamie's book better, but this one came pretty close. There's plenty to like here - Percy was a pretty good narrator, and his brand of sarcasm was really fun to read. Cal was precious, both for putting up with Percy's grumpy ass and for his love of everything dinosaur.

I think the plot was too thin for me, though, and in my opinion focused too much on that cute little game of Sherlock Gnomes. The super friendly, tolerant neighbors were a little weird, to be honest, even with the suspension of disbelief. But then, it's a comfort read, and that's no place for drama. ( )

Is Nemesizing a real word...?? That’s what Percy asks Cal ... If it means all the flirting and banter and absolute cluelessness about what they feel for each other, I’m all for it.

This book was so much fun, with loads of sarcasm and a whole bunch of entertaining nosy neighbors.

I definitely recommend to anyone who loves an enemies-to-lovers trope done well. You will surely enjoy this book!!! ( )

Typical Anyta Sunday with the slow-burn and the banter.

Cal and Percy were always frenemies, but after Percy's aunt and only relative he was on speaking terms with died, he had no reason to stay in the neighborhood. But not everything worked out the way he planned it. And that's all I'm gonna say about the plot. :)

I loved the way Cal and Percy communicated. So much sarcasm, which was basically their own way of flirting. One would say "I hate you" with a quirky smile, the other would answer "I hate you more" with a twinkle in his eyes. Okay, not that blatantly obvious. ;)

Sometimes I felt they were speaking a different language than me, and I felt a bit left out. Of course I could read between the lines, but I kind of wanted them to drop the code-talking and switch to real-talk for more than 10 sentences. I felt the shift from nemeses to friendship happening, but because they still maintained the sarcastic banter, I couldn't really tell when they decided to be more than friends. Or maybe I could? It's just happened so fast.

Anyway, it's a really enjoyable read and even though I don't believe in horoscopes I'm looking forward to reading the next installment, cause I'm a Capricorn. :D ( )
