A possessed butt plug? Really? This I had to read! Just the idea made me grin in anticipation, but reading the story made me laugh – at least initially. Oliver seems to be just a guy having some alone-time fun, albeit with a possessed butt plug which seems a little weird, but it’s clear that it isn’t what he expected. The story quickly turns into much more serious territory when the true reason for the sex toy being haunted emerges. With a great mix between hilarious, turning to serious, then back to amusing and cute, this story is entertainingly ghostly.

Oliver actually faints when he realizes the voice he hears comes from his butt plug. When he wakes up again, there’s a naked man in his bedroom and the longer they talk, the clearer it becomes they used to know each other. Martin is definitely a ghost, but he has a few things holding him back from moving on, and there’s a good reason why he needs to talk to Oliver. Unusual though this may be, it’s a very nice change from the usual scary hauntings I have seen before. Sort of a ghost-light version, and just right for someone like me who has a problem with horror.

If you like stories about haunted items but prefer a touch of humor, if you want to see two men reunited in a very creative way, after one of them died, and if you’re looking for a read that ventures from hilariously funny into more serious territory and ends up being intriguingly cute, then you will probably like this short story.
