wanted to like this for the story line but, once again, the ending wasn't. very little was done other than to introduce a few characters, throw some chaos into the mix, and provide scaffolding for future stories... this is one of the reasons i don't like reading stories that are part of a longer series that isn't finished... ( )

I enjoyed the series featuring Autumn so I was really pleased to see the story continuing with her snarky sister Cassie as the main character. This book takes the reader in a different direction with a new "villain" and plenty of mystery. I laughed out loud at multiple places and teared up once or twice as well.

It is not necessary to read the Realm Watchers series to enjoy this book, but it does give you a better handle on all the events that have already happened, so I would recommend starting with book 1 - Autumn Winters. This is a fun series all the way around.

I will warn you that it does end on a cliff-hanger, The GOOD kind. The kind where the book is nicely wrapped up but then there is a twist and your jaw drops. Some authors and readers call an unfinished book a "cliff-hanger" but they aren't using the word correctly. Authors who just stop writing and pick up the story in the next book of a serial are writing episodes or "parts" as in Part One, Part Two, etc. These are single books divided into parts for marketing or whatever reason and I hate, HATE those books.

This book ends like a good TV series with a WOW that you didn't see coming and now you pace and wait for the next season to air. ( )
