Cold Blood (Detective Erika Foster #5) by Robert Bryndza is amazing! I hace read all the DCI Erika Foster books, and this one does not disappoint in fact this one is very dimensional and I loved it.
This story starts off with a suitcase???? Confused? Don’t be the suitcase contains a body! A few chapters in you the reader realize that this is the work of a serial killer and the investigation begins in earnest! Like every Robert books you watch Erika put the pieces of the puzzle together when there is a wrench dropped in the mix. Erika suffers an attack that actually adds to the story. It gives Erika the insight on what her boyfriend went through in the last book, but it doesn’t make Erika stop working the case but if you know Erika you know she would never stop.

I felt that the chapters that alternated between Erika and the Killer made the story more dimensional. I found myself angry and feeling sorry for the killer. I also like that all the regular characters are just as wonderful as I remember. It’s fast paced, wonderful and a great installment that I am ready for more already! Fantastic story. Fully enjoyed it. I have read all of the Erica foster books, and I think that cold blood is now my new favourite.
Now I desperately need book 6!!

Yet another winner in the Erika Foster series, not an unexpected rating. I really like the series, because of the people more than anything. The crimes are often very brutal, usually not your run of the mill murders or robberies, but usually ruthless serial killers who do it for fun. This was no exception, with the added twist of Erika herself becoming a victim, and almost getting killed; I don't think it's a spoiler to say "almost", as nobody expects her to die in her own series.

As usual, we get to know all the characters, so that even one of the perpetrators is somewhat sympathetic, and not a truly bad person.

I had trouble putting this one down towards the end, but I think I need a break now after reading two in a row. ( )

I've had a blast the last couple of weeks devouring 3 Erika Foster books. I jumped at the chance to participate in this blog tour, but that meant that I had to read the previous two books before reading Cold Blood. Lucky me! Finishing this book also meant that now I have to wait for the next one. Which after this Erika Foster marathon feels a bit sad...

Cold Blood is the fifth and the latest book in the Erika Foster series and this time Erika has to stop a serial killer couple. Nina and Max are a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde couple whose love story pretty much starts off with a brutal murder. Nina is blinded by love for Max and right from the start is it pretty clear that he is using her blind devotion to him to make her do what he wants her to do. Should one feel sorry for her? Well, perhaps at the start, but as the story progressed is it hard to feel that much sympathy for her. To be honest, did I not feel that much sympathy for her at all, she didn't have a bad life, and the choices she made, well she made the bed....

Erika has her own problems in this book, besides the hunt for the serial killers is she faced with a betrayal that will danger her life and her relationship with Peterson seems to have come to a stop. Marsh is back, and that thrilled me as he is a character that I like and it will be interesting to see if he will be able to save his marriage.

Cold Blood is an excellent book, with a story that thrilled me from the start. As always do I love reading about the characters personal life as well as the crimes that they have to solve and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series!
