More horrible traced art letting down what was, otherwise, a pretty decent story. Glad to be finished with Land's work on this book though. ( )

This is pretty much Psylocke's show. The focus is very much on her and her focus seems to have moved on from Warren/Archangel and On tho how much she distrusts Magneto.
Some threads from the previous issues seem to have been forgotten.
I liked the artwork and the story kept me reading, but with my favourites from this team barely making an appearance I doubt I'll revisit. ( )

It finally hit me, what is bothering me so much with Greg Land's art(beside the fact that it's not art and mostly tracing of magazine).. the guy has no sense of camera work, at-all. No rhythm either in the panels, each feeling more disconnected with the following one than it felt with the one preceding it. No flow. And the characters, mostly taking heads, even in action scenes, because it's easier to find a head to trace in a magazine than a full body doing the right action. And always the same pose too(head slightly downward)

Ugh, well, I guess it was more than one thing... So glad the guy is off drawing something else now. This is the last TPB where I'll have to "suffer" his pencils. (and yes, suffer it is. I've hated his photoshop style ever since Sojourn and made sure to avoid his non-art for decades, since Crossgen, until he got this book)

As for the story, well, pretty weak. we mostly get, again, 3 issues of "who is it?" then one issue that reveal the villain and gets him beaten by the almighty Magneto in only a few panels. Honestly, this was almost a repeat of the previous TPB plot. Even Mystique played the same role as in the previous arc, as Magneto's secret undercover commando. So bored I didn't even read the last issue of the TPB. I'll come back to it one day, maybe.
