So far only read 2:
-- The Cyborg, the Tinman, the Merchant of Death by Rich Larson - 3* haha a Cyborg teabagged a soldier. Unfortunately, it may have been a soldier on his side. Can't quite remember at this point.
From the interview, a bit of a summary of the story Q: The story also focuses on the downward spiral of a complex Stockholm Syndrome relationship between the main character and the Tinman. What sort of research, if any, did you do to support such development?
A: I write speculative fiction so I don’t have to research anything. Nah, kidding. But in this specific case, I just imagined what kind of weird codependency the protagonist might develop to cope with his situation.
-- The Venus Effect by Violet Allen (AKA Joseph Allen Hill), narrated by Stefan Rudnicki - DNF - got to about 25%. I learned what metafiction or 4th wall breaking (I knew that one from TV) is after looking at some reviews. There are some great reviews out there about it and I can see why it is well liked. It wasn't a good match for my reading preferences so I quit.
