This is my second book in this series (just picking and choosing out of order), and I'd enjoyed the first, but this one missed the mark for me. This heroine is SUCH a pea-brain! I just could hardly bare it. As I understand it she's been an active member of a BDSM club for an entire year, AND graduated from their submissives training course. But at nearly every turn she's confused and amazed at how basic stuff works. The guys bring up safe words and she's like 'safe word??' like it's an entirely new concept to her. She's also supposed to really identify as a submissive, but hardly ever follows a single direction without first strongly opposing it. Even super basic innocuous stuff. Or sometimes she's like 'you can't just touch me without my permission!' to the masters and I just think 'what do you even imagine this dynamic is??' And she repeatedly and deliberately does things to anger her doms, and then seems absolutely shocked that they then discipline her! (And she's not a brat submissive, so this isn't acting out to purposely gain punishment or because she likes to be overpowered or something). She's just apparently *that* clueless. And those are just the BDSM things! I won't even go into all the terrible life-choices she makes! Sheesh. I liked the heroes well enough, but she's in pretty much every scene, lol, so it was just a steady barrage of light frustration and annoyance. ( )

Uzuri had a violent stalker that has made her afraid of large men, she also has problems asking for help. Master Z has jus the right masters to help Uzuri. Once Max and Alastair uncover the real Uzuri, they want to keep their little mischief maker and help her over come her problems. It's a fabulous story, lots of previous characters are woven in, including Cullen and Andrea's wedding. Hot sizzling sex, although most is m/f until much later in the book. Fun moments too.

Shadowlands favorite prankster finally meets her match in two sexy Doms. For two years Uzuri has avoided telling her story and facing her past. Master Z gave her a time limit to do both and that time has come – and we all know Master Z always gets his way.

Uzuri Cheval left a horrific past behind and moved to Florida. She has a great job as a fashion buyer for a huge department store, and she has made friends with fellow subbies. Uzuri is the type of friend that would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it but yet if she needed to call on a friend for help she never do it. Her past left her with many fears. Along with not having the confidence in thinking her friends would be there for her she is also scared of large men which has made it impossible for her to find a Dom to top her. When strange things start happening she fears her past has come back and her take flight instincts kick into high gear.

We all know how Master Z likes to play matchmaker and he's set his eyes on Alastair and Max Drago to be the Dom's who finally break down all the barriers that Uzuri has built up. Problem is Alastair is the only one ready to settled down, his cousin Max not so much due to something from his past.

This book had it all. There were so many laugh out loud scenes between the Shadowkittens. Finally getting to know the pasts of Uzuri, Alastair and Max and how all three of them help the other deal not only with their past but also help each other deal when they have a bad day at work. There is also plenty of suspense and let me tell you the final showdown was twisted. If Cherise ever wanted to branch out into writing serial killer books I'd think she be a master at it (← get it)
