( ) Willy decided to go to the park and on the way there a cloud appeared and started following him. He tried to run away from it but that didn't work. He got to the park and everyone was having fun but him so he went home. Being inside was a little better but as soon as he went outside again it was still there waiting for him. So he yelled at the cloud, telling it how he felt. Which made the cloud cry producing rain, and once the rain was over the cloud was gone. Willy went back to the park and had fun with everyone. I loved this story because it teaches kids that they should face their problems head on. Also that when you try and avoid a problem it just follows you around, avoiding it won't make the problem go away. Browne uses a cute and entertaining story to teach an important life lesson. Willy the chimp returns in this eighth picture-book devoted to his adventures, finding that he simply cannot escape the cloud which has come to hover over him. Wherever he goes, the cloud follows him. Even when he goes indoors, it only provides temporary relief, as the cloud is waiting for him when he emerges again. Eventually losing his temper, Willy shouts at the cloud, relieving his feelings and leading to a rain shower that disperses the cloud... After greatly enjoying Willy's Stories, British author/artist Anthony Browne's previous book about the eponymous Willy, I was curious to see what new adventures lay in store. While that seventh title in the series addressed the magic of books and reading, Willy and the Cloud deals with the emotional life of its primate hero. The metaphor of the overhanging cloud, representing a bad mood or persistent negative feeling, works very well here, especially as the resolution - Willy's confrontation with the cloud - leads to an improvement, both in his mood, and in the metaphorical "weather." Recommended to all Willy fans, and to anyone looking for children's stories dealing with negative emotions and how to handle them. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

One warm, sunny day, Willy the Chimp decides to go to the park. There's not a cloud in the sky--well, except for just a little tiny one. It doesn't bother Willy too much at first. But as the cloud follows him, it grows bigger and bigger and becomes harder and harder to ignore. Pretty soon the cloud is all Willy can think about, and he has no idea how to make it go away.
