A great picture book that encourages critical thinking and comparisons. No wrong answers, just reasons for your answers! Good for sharing one on one or with small groups if in preschool; even more opportunities for delving deeper with elementary age kids. ( ) This is a great small book to have in your class. It is very simple to where there arent any characters to follow along but it does a great job in illustrations to keep student engaged in the content. This purpose of this book is to have students use their knowledge of different shapes to find which ones arent supposed to be in the category given. This book doesn't exactly have characters or a story line but instead it is pages of groups of shapes that the reader has to figure out which one doesn't belong. The beauty of this book is no one is wrong as long as they can justify their answer. The author starts off with one set of shapes and explains reasons why any of the 4 may not belong. He then lets the reader on their own to determine what they believe doesn't belong in the rest of the groups. This book is great to introduce many concepts in geometry and is definitely a must have. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

"Every page of this innovative picture book contains a thoughtfully designed set of four shapes and the question 'Which one doesn't belong?' Each of the shapes could be a correct answer to the question. Because there is no one right answer, children naturally shift their focus to justifications and arguments based on the shapes' geometric properties."-- Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
