If the Voyager 1 space probe was picked up in outer space by extraterrestrials, what would happen? Here's your opportunity to find out. Voyager 1 was launched by NASA in 1977 to study the outer solar system and, ultimately, interstellar space. It carried a gold-plated audio-visual disc in the event that it might be found by intelligent life-forms from other planetary systems. It was discovered by goopmutt bandits who towed it through interstellar space at superluminal speed. In an effort to conceal their crime, they manipulated the data on the craft's digital tape recorder and left it in the heliosphere where its signal could still be picked up from Earth. Eventually, they abandoned the probe in the Centaurus galaxy where it was picked up by two itinerant spacecombers from a small circumbinary planet known as Morys Minor.… (altro)

Alien Invasion
Smolin9, a nomadic scavenger from the Morys Minor planetary system, investigates earth intercepting the audio-visual disk from space probe Voyager 1. The alien encounters with animal and human are present as entries in a diary. The dialogue is characterized by insincerity, irony, or whimsical exaggeration. It is a humorous typical alien invade earth and human fight back. ( )

Got this as a member's give away from the author in return for a review. I was intrigued by the "seeing ourselves as others see us," (apologies, R Burns) aspect of the story as well as the implicit commentary on the liberal's political correctness plaguing common sense responses to real problems in our society. The author disguised the comments as pertaining to the alien planet's society, but they ring true in the USA currently. In short, there's lots of stuff to keep your interest, although I found the story line long. Thanks for the chance to read the work. ( )
