Ashes of War by Lia Davis Book #2: Sons of War Series Source: Purchase My Rating: 4/5 stars My Review: I am still loving the dragons to a serious degree Round two of the Sons of War series focuses on Ty, by far the most dangerous of the brothers. Ty is lethal, his dragon is always just at the surface ready to break free, and he is absolutely untrusting of all females. Though Ty has idea how long his captivity lasted and his memory of the events that occurred while in captivity are fuzzy, at best, one thing is certain, the god Eros wants Ty’s head for the death of his beloved daughter, Elizabeth. When Ty’s brother, Zavier rescued him from Elizabeth and Garrick’s clutches, Elizabeth was dead and all the available evidence pointed to Ty as her killer. How could it not point to him?? Elizabeth lured Ty into captivity in her depravity, tortured Ty in a multitude of ways designed to break both Ty and his dragon. To this day, Ty bears the scars of Elizabeth’s sick and twisted mind. Ashlynn has been tasked by Zeus himself – at Eros’s insistence – to find the person responsible for Elizabeth’s death. Eros is convinced of Ty’s guilt but Ash is not so certain and is determined to discover the truth. Unravelling the truth isn’t going to be easy for a multitude of reasons including Ash’s growing certainty that Ty is her mate, the need to find and utilize the skills of a very rare and very well-hidden weaver to unlock Ty’s memories, the extremely short amount of time before Ty has to appear before Zeus, and Ty’s inability to trust women. Add to all of this mess the fact that Garrick is still causing a great deal of trouble for the Sons and you’ve got a recipe for disaster. The Bottom Line: Ty might be my favorite among the brother with his barely contained anger, his intensely sexual side, and his incredible loyalty to those he has claimed as his own. Ty has a few secrets he has been keeping from his brothers and as those tumble out, Ty becomes even more interesting. Ash is one of the strongest of the woman gathering around the brothers which makes her the perfect for Ty. Ash is strong, capable, fierce, determined, and just as stubborn as Ty. Together the two are a sexy and formidable team hell bent on discovering the truth of Ty’s captivity and who, precisely killed Elizabeth. With every discovery, Ty and Ash not only get closer to the truth of Ty’s situation but unveil more of the crazy that is Garrick and plot to overthrow the Olympian deities. Ashes of War is a good blend of a book-specific plot line and series plot-line coming together into one cohesive unit. More background information is revealed throughout the read with old and new characters alike playing a role in the huge drama. 3.5 of 5 Stars Ashlynn Blake, minor goddess of the hunt, has been tasked with judging accused dragon shifter, Ty Sullivan, with his supposed crimes. Feeling he is blameless she needs to prove his innocence to the gods. I enjoyed Ashlynn. I like that she is the daughter of Artemis, having a connection with animals and the hunt. I appreciated that she went above and beyond to find out the truth. Ty has been through a lot, making it hard for him to trust. He is a strong man for surviving being tortured. He is a worthy hero whom a truly enjoyed. The plot was mysterious and action packed. It had numerous twists keeping me engaged. It was interesting and fast paced. Ashes of War is a clever story that is a quick pleasurable read. Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Ashes of War is book two in the Sons of War series by Lia Davis. We pick up a few weeks after [b:War's Passion|18275696|War's Passion (Sons of War, #1)|Lia Davis|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1432780548s/18275696.jpg|25744042] and continue in the fight agents Garrick.
Wow the plot thickens. We learn why Ash was sent to spy. We also learn a lot about Ty and the time he was tortured. During that time he lost a part of himself. The author did a great job building on the plot and characters. Their are so many surprises added into this story, that to talk about them, well would just spoil it for you, so all I can say is that I was going OMG and WOW with all the things revealed. We are also introduced to a few new characters that I look forward to reading more about.
As for the romance each couples romance builds in each novel, so I recommend reading in order. You will see the pull and character changes as things progress, new characters come into play, and plot twist get revealed. Ash and Ty’s romance was sweet. These two learn to trust and you see their character growth throughout the story. Both find what they need in each other. That peace and love. There are some hot scenes, but they don’t over take the story.
I had a great time reading Ashes of War and am looking forward to Zavier’s story. It looks like he is the next to fall for his mate!
