"Michelangelo: The Young Artist Who Dreamed of Perfection" by Philip Wilkinson is a biography about the life of artist Michelangelo. It talks about his early life, how he became the influence that he is, and some of his most famous works. I liked this book overall because I feel that it gives good facts but does so in an age-appropriate way. The authors manage to keep the information interesting. I would use this book in a 4th or 5th grade class to have students research either influential artists or influential people of the Renaissance. I would also give it to students to read who are interested in art. It is a good biography because it gives an accurate portrayal of Michelangelo's life, using sources. There are also many pictures of his work with captions next to them, as well as a running timeline at the bottom. Media: pictures. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

I rated this book 3.5 stars because it was good and I enjoyed it but it wasn't the best book ever. I gave this book the extra 0.5 stars because I learned new information from the book. I also read this book because we are going to Florence soon. I don't think I would have given it 4 or 5 stars because it was good but not great. I wanted to learn more about Michelangelo's family and not just his work. All in all, this was a fairly good book. I would recommend this book if you are traveling to Florence or want to learn about Michelangelo. ( )
