Because the dimension hopping it sometimes gets confusing, but this one wasn't bad. I also love the art and the crazy new environments and creatures they come up with. The only thing I didn't like about this one was that I felt it spent too much time wallowing in the background of the main character. I think 2 comics would have been enough, 3 just seemed like a little much. Can't wait for the next one. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Summary:
The final jump of the PIllar has left the Dimensionauts scattered through the Onion. Grant is lost in his own mind. A dimension powered by his id and imagination where he tortures himself incessantly, all while followed around by monosyllabic floating fish who like commenting on his decisions. Rebecca got her wish. She’s home, a home where her brother didn’t die, a home where she has a life, a home where all she had to do to have he life was kill...herself. Can Grant overcome his demons? Can he find a way to the rest of the team?

Why this book:
Inertia got me through this one. The last one that I checked out of the library.

Favorite Character:
Despite the psychodrama, the living mountain god of his consciousness is freaking awesome.
Favorite Scene / Quote:
The sequence of falling thru Grant’s life of traumas, he walks in on his estranged wife and kids watching TV and asks what they’re watching. Only to find them watching video of him and his project assistant having sex. How could you let them watch this? They already knew and I was the only one who didn’t...until Kadir sent me the tape.
Intelligent millipede death cults sweeping world to world on the Pillars. Just wow.
Pacing:
Slower than previous installments.
Plot Holes/Out of Character:
I see a solution/resolution to the cracks in the Eververse problem. I hope that isn’t where Remender ultimately takes the story.
WTF Moments:
Rebecca didn’t go home to her dimension. And, luckily, she wasn’t who I was afraid she was. That’d’ve been f’ed up like Lolita and OldBoy f’ed up. I wonder if that’s Rebecca’s denouement. Of course, there are still alt-Rebeccas out there in the Eververse. Wonder if this means she killed the “real” Rebecca in the first universe? Or if this means that she was the “real” Rebecca and the stuff that happened to her happened in the prime Eververse. That makes more sense than the rabbit hole my rain went down. Simple makes sense. Easy to get overly complicated with a multi-everversal onion, layer upon layer of reality accessible through story.
Meh / PFFT Moments:
The walk thru McKay’s psyche is very well imagined, but did we really need more of this part of Grant’s story?
Meh. Grant’s life is so rough. Meh.
Ringing the Grant can be the Big Hero bell again. Seems too soon after Jet Pack Grant.
The Unexpected:
Referring to someone as a Blowjob Dragon may be my favorite new thing.

Last Page Sound:
Weakest of the set so far.
Author Assessment:
Will look for the next installment.
Editorial Assessment:
This was the first one that felt like the foot came off the accelerator. Editorial should have tightened them back up and got them back on the road.
Knee Jerk Reaction:
it’s alright
