More than just a biography, this book speaks to the struggle of women in the fight for equal opportunities. The illustrations are key, introducing readers to scores of world leaders and women’s rights activists. Timeline, Artist’s Notes, Bibliography. The biography of Hillary Clinton is significant because she is a woman that almost won the 2016 presidential election. She also has many important views on women’s rights and helping those in need. Growing up, Hillary lived in a world ruled by men, but it did not stop her from achieving her dreams. She was always doing her best to achieve greatness. From a young age she always found a way to help others that did not have much. She cared about the well - being of the people around her. She was simply born to be a leader. She spoke up for those who did not have a voice. Hillary was selected body president at her East Coast Women’s College and she was also chosen to give the first senior graduation speech the school ever had. Hillary encouraged people to protest and speak about the problems in America. She wanted to change the world. Many of Hillary’s colleagues called her fearless. From a very young age Hillary was smart, tough, and ambitious. Hillary entered law school after college, so she could work for justice. she was the 67th secretary of State. She was the First Lady at one point. This biography jumped around Hillary’s life and gave brief descriptions of important events in her life. The story was not difficult to follow, and it provided enough information for the reader. At the end of the book there is a timeline that ties everything together and helps the reader get a better idea of the order in which the events occurred. Hillary Rodham Clinton Some Girls are Born to Lead by Michelle Markel- This informational nonfiction book tells the story of how Hillary became an activist, lawyer, mother, wife, First Lady, secretary of state, and advocate for the freedom, equality and dignity of every person. I enjoy how the story described what life was like at the time. For example, the author makes connections an describes what a “man’s world” is and how only boys were supposed to have big dreams and act tough, etc. I also enjoyed the illustrations and how it showed Hillary working at a different time in her life in every picture. This book encourages everyone, but more specifically girls, to do all that they can to be the best they can be. I would love to share this book to a group of students or a classroom to teach them that all students, regardless of race and gender, are able to be great people when they give it all that they can. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
