We get to find out a little bit about who Melvin Bubble is in this story, by asking a few of his relatives, friends, and even Santa and the Tooth-fairy. ( )

Who indeed Melvin?! I love this book and its continued theme of discovery and story re-telling from every point of view except the main characters. I was entertained and amazed of each character's retelling of who and what makes the essence of Melvin. Even his fears and dislikes were discussed as a complete investigation into the boy named Melvin. The creative storytelling, friendship and colorful images makes this book a worthy addition into the classroom. Someday, I hope someone writes a story about me too!

In his book, Who is Melvin Bubble?", Nick Bruel attempts to find out who Jimmy Wallpaper's best friend, Melvin Bubble, really is. Through many hilarious interactions with the Tooth Fairy, Santa, the Meanest Man in the World, and even a pet rock, we finally learn who Melvin Bubble really is. Nick Bruel's use of vibrant vocabulary and humorous selection of interviewees makes this book a must read. It is a wonderful read aloud and even better when you get to hear the author read the book in person. A must have for any child.

This story attempts to solve the mystery of who, exactly, Melvin Bubble is with a little postmodernism and a little humor. Nice. ( )
