Curiously, however, I've rarely read the magazine. Instead, I'm an aficionado of some of the fine journalism that graces its pages. And I'm entranced how one man (founder and original editor Harold Ross) managed to corral so many talented writers and to somehow keep them locked onto his vision for a truly metropolitan weekly magazine. This book was a wonderful read for me nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

From the founder and editor Harold Ross, to Wolcott Gibbs, James Thurber, E, B, White, Katharine Angell, John O'Hara, and John Hershey the book chronicles how these brilliant and talented people created a magazine that grew to be the thought leader of the country. My only complaint is that there is too little Dorothy Parker. ( )
