The charges against corrupt DEA agent Nicole Rollins include murder, conspiracy, and gunrunning. She’s under heavy guard, being transported from jail to federal court when she makes a daring escape that endangers a school bus filled with children and leaves five agents dead. Federal agents searching for her are certain Nicole will flee the country and Lucy Kincaid, assigned to the FBI’s San Antonio field office, becomes part of the largest task force Texas has ever seen. Certain that if they don’t capture her she will continue her killing spree, both the DEA and the FBI are, at the same time, attempting to discover if one of their people could be the mole in their organization that provided Nicole with the information that allowed her to execute her daring escape. But Nicole hasn’t fled the country; she has a sinister plan for revenge . . . and her scheme will target everyone that Lucy Kincaid holds dear. Fans of the Lucy Kincaid series will find much to appreciate in this fast-paced story. Well-developed characters, a true sense of place, and a plot that twists and turns as it ramps up the suspense all serve to keep readers on the edge of their seats until the final page has been turned. Highly recommended. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

This is the first book in this series that has me conflicted. There is a lot that I love about this book which would normally be a solid 4* rating. However, there are a few things that upset me enough, that it brought down my rating.
What I love:
* The story is loaded with suspense. The FBI and DEA team are at a loss. They know the culprits, but they can't figure out who the mole is in their organizations. Following the clues with them gives the reader a lot to think about in a story that is full of action.
* There is nothing better than a mystery/thriller with a truly evil villain. In No Good Deed, there are multiple evil villains. I love it.
* I am totally invested in Lucy and Sean. From the beginning, they are a solid team. I love when they work together; Sean is good for Lucy and vice versa. They bounce theories off each other which makes them better at their jobs.
* Kane is an interesting Rogan. He is surrounded in mystery. I enjoy learning more about him, and what makes him tick. I can't wait for a book that features Kane.
* We get Jack Kincaid in this story as well as other characters on Kane's team. There is also an appearance from some of Lucy's D.C. connections.
What I don't like:
Sean, Jack, Kate and Hans disappointed me so much that it turned me off the story a little. Lucy deals with a lot of hurt in the story. Co-workers don't trust her. Juan her boss is still on the fence about her performance. However, Sean, et.al. is the worst. It is out of character for Sean. For me, it was a slap at Lucy and a major betrayal of the people she loves most.
The story ends on a high note, which made me round my rating up, but I thought about it a lot. I really like this series, and will continue on; I want to be a part of Lucy and Sean's next adventure. (
