"While banished to a dusty study one day "to think things over", a boy pulls a book off a shelf and with great reluctance begins to read. As the afternoon passes, the story nabs him and carries him away. Before long, this good little book becomes his loyal companion, accompanying him everywhere ... until, one day, the book is lost. Will this bad little boy get back his good little book? Will the good little book survive on its own without a proper jacket?" --… (altro)

This is a very very adorable book. The illustrations are gorgeous and the story is so relatable for anyone who has ever loved a book. I loved the books with prizes - the Pull Lizard Prize, the Called A Cat Medal!

Plus I think it's nice that this is my 200th book I've read this year :) A good one to end my 2015 challenge on! ( )

This book will remind everyone of why the love to read. A plain covered book attracts the eye of a boy who is being punished. He is sent into the library to think, but he begins to explore and pulls the "Good Little book" off the shelf. He become enthralled. He reads it over and over. It piques his interest and he begins to read other books, but this one will always be his favourite. It was his first. The day he loses the book he is frantic. He imagines all sorts of things happening to the book, but what really happens is that others read it and love it too. He continues to read other books in its absence while always looking for it. When he sees a girl reading his book, his first instinct is to claim it as his own, but then he realizes that she should have the opportunity to read it too. Definitely a book lovers book. Wonderful illustrations will keep the attention of young readers and give you the chance to explain about the doors that open while reading.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. ( )

This is a magical story about the power of a good book: to grab your imagination, to give you something to think about, to make you love reading. It's about the power of ordinary books -- not the bestsellers, but a quiet little volume you see undisturbed on the shelf. And it is wonderful. ( )

Years ago we have owned a bookstore and one time a customer asked me why we took in used books. I responded "My hope is to give every good book a great home." After reading this book I see I'm not alone in my thinking. A wonderful little book that you will love. ( )
