This one point drove me insane and seemed to go against logic just to create a back story at the ball game why did no one call the police? Why allow yourself to be terrorised by thugs when you can easily call emergency? I found it very hard to believe that at a game with many adults attending no one thought to do this. This being left out did mean that Matt and John had baggage but it wasn't believable to me and so I found it hard to feel the proper emotions in this story arc. (

A good, non-standard YA read. While a little bit of suspension of disbelief is required, the situation, details, and survival tips are accurate and realistic - good to know if you're ever stranded at sea!

The characters are a little flat (and John's motivations are never exactly clear, nor what exactly makes Dri so great), but the breakdown of "civilized" behavior in times of stress is well-portrayed, and the ending is refreshing in that things don't get tied up perfectly. (
