This book looks at Canada's foreign policy in the current world environment: the growth of Asian markets, international security threats, the U.S. role as the only superpower and other major shifts. The analysis is sound and the policy advice is good. My worry, though, is that there have been calls for similar shifts many times and nothing much ever changes! ( )

From the Preface: The idea for this book germinated in the seeds of our 2012 report, Winning in a Changing World, co-authored with Thomas d'Aquino and Len Edwards, which was presented to the prime minister of Canada, each of Canada's premiers, and senior officials in the Government of Canada in June and August of that year.
Aldox Huxley's Brave New World was intended as satire but there is nothing satirical about the need for Canada to be brave in meeting the challenges of a dramatically changing world.
