The illustrations in this, and all of Steve Jenkins and Robin Page's books, are so lovely. The layout is beautiful, and the facts are fascinating. Eggs are cool. I learned that there is a species of fish that lays fertilized eggs and non-fertilized eggs at the same time, so that when the former hatch they can eat the latter. Awesome. I appreciate the amount of illustrations that came in the book. The book went into great detail about eggs, they types of animals that lay eggs, how eggs are formed, predators to eggs, how eggs are protected, how they are moved ect. My favorite part was the in-depth glossary that provided information about all of the animals that were mentioned in the book, along with pictures. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

This book would be best for younger grades, preferably k-3. If I was to use this in the classroom, I would read this book as a read aloud and then create some life size eggs of different animals out of paper so kids could physically and feel the size of the eggs. ( )
