I read numbers 1 through 5 as a single volume, so what I say here is for all of them. This should be funny, or controversial, hopefully both. Why would you take an established world and throw zombies in and just have it be a zombie sotry? Sure, there is some poking fun at Jughead and Veronica in particular, and recasting of Nancy and Ginger and the two rich kids who loathe Riverdale, but I wanted sastire or blowing away ideas of Archie past. They are such a fast read, though, that I got through it before I ran out of steam. Read all my reviews on http://urlphantomhive.booklikes.com This was also part of the Humble Bundle, and it seemed like a good Halloween read. I'm still getting used to reading individual issues because they are so short that it is hard to get a real idea of what is going on and more importantly will I like the story. This first issue is certainly just setting the scene for things to come, but the story looks quite interesting and I'm looking forward to continue reading, although for me it's certainly one of those in-between books. Found this by accident, and must say I was pleasantly entertained. They have combined by childhood fascination with Archie and the gang in Riverdale with one of my adult interests: zombies. Why not, everything else has introduced zombies one way or another. A note though; this is not for young kids. This series is for a mature audience. But how mature can one be if they are reading zombie Archie. Ha! Ha! Anyway, the artwork is marvelous (giving I more realistic feel) The first issue set up the story and we got to see all the Riverdale residents. Issue two was a little slow as the store unfurled, but I am looking forward to continuing the series! nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Jughead needed to man up when his dog, Hotdog got hit by a car and died. Instead, he ran to Sabrina Spellman, and she did some illegal spell causing some real Pet Cemetery mayhem. I won't give too much away on the plot but this is a zombie story that actually has a good origin and makes sense.
The comic wasn't as creepy as the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina but it wasn't a childish Archie comic either. It was a perfect mix of horror, teen angst, and a sprinkle of comedy. I enjoyed seeing Sabrina's character again. I am not sure if her aunt's are evil in this but in one panel of the comic they look ghoulish. I also like how she is to blame for all of this. She was told not to cast the spell bringing Hotdog back to life but she did so anyway. She was banished for a year to another realm, I wonder what is going to happen when she comes back.
I loved that this paid homage to Night of the Living Dead (1968), Nightmare on Elm Street, and Friday the 13th. The fact that it was mentioned in the comic made it feel much more realistic. Also enjoying the fact that this is taking place during modern times.
Overall this was a great read, I am waiting for the series to be complete before I continue reading. ( )
