I like this opening stage in a new comic. I'm already predisposed to like stories having a scientific element and I would gladly give this a 3.5 star rating if it were possible. The art is generally impressive being evocative of some darker future not unlike that depicted in Bladerunner. The various elephanment are particularly well drawn, commanding your attention in most panels. Some of the cutesy-er pictures are what hurt the visual experience for me. Still, it's a small negative.

The opening stories come off as a little disjointed to begin as the author develops the world and its characters. If I had bought these as individual, monthly installments, it's pretty likely I wouldn't have made it to issue 3-4 because the story lines aren't there early on creating confusion as to where it's all going.

If you like the newly relaunched Prophet comic, Bladerunner, or science fiction in general, then you should pony up the money to read this series. ( )
