This book follows the story "One Special Day". In " One Busy Day", we see Mia, who is the younger sibling of Spencer, and all she wants is her older brothers attention. When Spencer doesn't want to play with her, Mia finds a way to have fun on her own using her imagination. Mia doesn't just dance in her bedroom, but rather she dances for a room full of people. She doesn't just explore around her house, but rather she find herself in a cave. Her brother sees how much fun she is having by using her imagination, and he finally decides to join in on the fun.

The author utilizes ellipses to create suspense for where Mia's imagination will take the readers. The author also uses different fonts to create excitement. The illustrations in the story are very well done, and make the story even more exciting! ( )

One Busy Day by Lola M. Schaefer, tells the story of Mia who wanted to do something with her busy busy, big brother, Spencer. But because he was too busy, Mia began doing activities on her own. Mia painted, danced, explored, baked, and so many other things. While doing her activities Mia's brother Spencer became interested. By the end of the day Mia and Spencer were both very busy together.
The author wrote what the verb Mia was taking part in on one page, and other the other page wrote what it was. For example, on one page was written "She built...," and on the next page was written "a tall towering castle."
The illustrator illustrated what was written on each page. Drawn by the words "She Built...," was Mia playing in a sand box. Drawn by the words "a tall towering castle," was Mia at the top of a very tall castle in a princess dress waving to her b brother down below climbing the tall stair case. The illustrator captured Mia's imagination and brought it to life. ( )
