Drawn from a 1989 episode of the Disney animated series The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore's tail has gone missing again. As Eeyore and Tigger -- playing a "Private Ear" detective -- track down the tail, we follow the tail through the hands of Rabbit, Pooh, Piglet, and Owl as they each in turn find a quite ridiculous or nonsensical use for it only to lose it again.
The moral of the story is actually decent, with Eeyore learning to appreciate his tail again after growing bothered by it, but the journey is too painfully absurd for my tastes.
FOR REFERENCE:
Picture book adaptation of The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh animated segment "Eeyore's Tail Tale," from Season 2, Episode 8; first aired October 28, 1989; directed by Terence Harrison; story by Evelyn A-R Gabai, Bruce Talkington and Mark Zaslove; teleplay by Evelyn A-R Gabai and Bruce Talkington.
(My Pooh Project: I love Winnie the Pooh, and so does my wife. Having a daughter gave us a chance to indoctrinate her into the cult by buying and reading her every Pooh book we came across. How many is that? I’m going to count them this year by reading and reviewing one every day and seeing which month I finally run out. Track my progress here:
