Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. About the same as the first. I don't like it as much as A Series of Unfortunate Events, but it's definitely in that realm. ( )Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. This book is the second in the series, and as enjoyable as the first. Neither were a favorite of mine, but I did enjoy the snarky narrator and the witty footnotes. They are fun, intelligent books for young readers. My 10-year-old daughter also enjoyed this book!I think this series is a lot of fun. The Templeton twins have moved with their father to a new town so he can create a fabulous invention for the local college, but again Dean D. Dean, a former student of Prof. Templeton, makes an appearance in order to deviously share the proceeds of the invention even though he didn't help with it. He can't outwit the twins, though. The conceited narrator of the story is particularly funny. I can see middle grade kids getting a real kick out of this. Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. The narrative style of this series will irritate many. What may have been a cute conceit in the first book begins to grate in this sequel. The constant references about needing to read the first book in order to understand the whole story might be intended to create a sense of community for the series' devotees, but it also smacks of infomercials. That said, the writing can be solidly funny and will likely find deep appeal with children who aren't put off by the running grumpy Narrator joke. I was hoping that I would find this story to be clever, but rather I found the narration to be irritating in tone and the story lacking in depth. There was terrific humor in many of the questions "For Further Study" at the end of chapters. I also liked that the author included footnotes explaining (albeit sarcastically) unusual vocabulary. Overall, as a middle grade reading teacher, this is not a book that I would recommend to my students. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Juvenile Fiction.
Mystery.
HTML: With its kid-perfect humor and dynamic illustrations, Book 1 of the hilarious Templeton Twins series left young readers clamoring for more. This time, Abigail and John Templeton find themselves at TAPAS (the Thespian Academy of the Performing Arts and Sciences) where their father, the illustrious Professor Templeton, has been hired to invent a groundbreaking theatrical device. Once again, there is drama (of course!), silliness, and suspense, as the twins (and their ridiculous dog) must thwart the dastardly Dean brothers in order to save the invention as well as their father (and the dog). Oh yes, there is sure to be another recipe. This time for guacamole. Or is it coleslaw? .Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
