In the Tree House is a good example of a contemporary realistic fiction because the main character moves from his old house to the city. At his new house there is a tree in his backyard - big enough for a tree house. He plans out his tree house and eventually his brother and his dad and him build the tree house together. He and his brother spend almost every day in the tree house for a while, but eventually, his brother (who is older) "grows out" of spending time in the tree house. This separation between older and younger siblings is very realistic experience.

This was sad and sweet. A little boy and his brother plan a tree house and build it together with their father. For the irst summer with their tree house, the brothers are inseperable, but by the next summer the older brother has more friends his age and no longer spends time with his little brother. Then, one night during a power outage, the older brother climbs the ladder and checks on his brother. They spend the entire night playing games and reading comics and just hanging out the way they used to :-) ( )
