I hesitate to put this book in the “erotica” category as I found it rather mild and not very boundary-pushing. That said, I could tell from about the 20% mark that this was the first in a series, so perhaps things will spice up in the subsequent books. Unfortunately, the reason I could tell this was part of a series was because things took So. Darn. Long to get started – the real meat of the narrative didn’t begin until after the 60% mark. But what came after was intriguing and I’m eager to learn more.

Grace is a young intern working for a large investment company in London. Upon arrival at the airport, she stumbles upon her boss, Jonathan Huntington, and mistakenly believes he is there to pick her up in person. As you can probably tell from that sentence, Grace is a little too naive for my tastes (though she does show Jonathan that she has a spine of steel!) and I hope she will mature and develop in the next installment(s) into someone I can truly root for.

As for Jonathan, I can’t really say much about him. I don’t like or dislike him yet. Grace hasn’t penetrated through his shell to discover whatever characteristics might be hiding underneath. He’s a billionaire CEO of his own company and is accordingly quite aloof and used to getting what (and who) he wants. I look forward to seeing more of his “Hunter” persona.

Overall: a decent first installment. The narrative pacing needs tightening and the main characters need to be developed further, but this was an enjoyable read that laid a good foundation for the next installment(s). I’m left with lots of questions that I look forward to seeing pan out in the next book(s). I am also excited to see more of the fun cast of secondary characters, especially Jonathan’s sister and business partner! ( )

What the hell was this? It's marked as erotic romance but there was nothing erotic about it. The only likeable character was pushed to the way way back as an after thought. I get that we are supposed to be all concerned about poor innocent naive Grace but she got herself in to some bad situations all on her own despite warnings from people. There was nothing likeable about Jonathan and honestly, most of the story didn't even go anywhere. We get hints of potential plot but no real development. It also ends on a cliffhanger which isn't even enough this time to get me to continue on in the series. A big old bag of nope here. ( )

I’m in love with this book. It reminds me of fifty shades of gray but it’s still different and that’s what I love about it. The characters are great and quite complex and I like how the story plot develops and the characters with it. I’m quite excited to read the next book in the series. ( )

3.5 stars/ 4 flames.

This is one of those books that I liked, but I don't really have much to say about it. It's the story of a young intern who meets and falls in love with the unattainable uber-rich CEO of a huge investment firm. The whole time I was reading it, I couldn't stop thinking "this would never happen in real life" or "this is so unrealistic". I know these books are all about the fantasy, but I guess I was hoping for a little more realism than what I got. Other than that, this was a decent start to the series and I will continue reading the other books once they have been translated.

I think I will like Jonathan once his character has been developed more. I don't really dislike anything so far at least. I am not a huge fan of Grace though - she is a bit too naive for me. I prefer a bit older character like Eva (Crossfire), instead of the young virginal Anna (50 Shades). The naive ones tend to get on my nerves a little more.

This book was recommended for Crossfire and 50 Shades fans, but there is not a whole lot of kink (yet). Yes, there is a mysterious club... but you're not getting anymore more in this book that some light voyeurism. I do hope the next book is translated soon, because there was a bit of a cliffhanger.
