This was good, but it seems like there's a lot of history to this lantern stuff that is not in New 52. I thought this was a reboot, but from reading comments online it sounds like they did use the stuff from Blackest Night/Brightest day here and I didn't read those. So, I definitely feel like I'm missing stuff, like what the hell is a black lantern? Wish I would have known, I would have read those events first. ( )

I continue to like the Sinestro/Jordan bromance, and the buildup to the Third Army stuff. ( )

So. Sinestro and Hal are still connected via Sinestro's ring and although Hal keeps trying to get out of the Green Lantern business, he keeps getting pulled back in and in a wicked big way.

This time it's a double dose. There's the Black Hand problem that actually starts on the planet of the Indigo Tribe, the compassion Lantern Ring. We get the story of the creation of the Indigo Tribe and at the same time Black Hand, the former Black Lantern escapes. And secondly there's a delightfully perturbing plan that the big blue headed Guardians have to fix the universe. They always seem to have one or another of those plans and this one is a doosey.

I think my favorite part of this TPB is the relationship between Hal and Sinestro. It's so complicated and layered and sometimes it seems to change with every panel. ( )
