We love Leslie Patricelli's books. This one we like a bit less than some others like Yummy Yucky and Quiet Loud but it's still a fun read. ( )

In simple and clear language with accompanying illustrations, this book describes various kisses and hugs between a baby and his/her family, friends, and even pets. Lots of cuddles help to express the baby's emotions (i.e., a boo-boo kiss, a hug to say good-bye, etc.). This book is a good asset for modeling appropriate behaviors for young children rather than aggressive or anti-social ones. The toddlers in my class loved this book and then turned to give each other pecks on the cheek after reading it together. The infant teacher in my school borrowed the book and said that she and her class enjoyed doing Eskimo kisses and bear hugs after reading it together. It's a great book to share for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine's Day, or any time you want to remind the little ones that they are loved and can show their own love. This sturdy board book is definitely a great addition to an infant or toddler library! ( )
