Quick & Dirty: A fun, dark and humorous novel. The main character has a few annoying flaws but don’t let that deter you from enjoying this novel. Opening Sentence: Medusa, serpent-goddess, executioner of men, scourge of Kisthene’s plain, stabbed a clawed finger in my direction. The Review: Petra finds herself taking advantage of the peace surrounding her camp after the “cease-fire” to the war. The camp has transformed the hospital from just solely being a trauma unit to helping gods/goddesses and demigods for basic healthcare needs. For the first time since she was drafted, Petra is actually enjoying herself and the life she has in limbo. Then Immortally Embraced completely tears apart Dr. Petra Robichaud’s love life. It rips it to shreds before slowly repairing itself. And that is just Petra’s heart. Galen is sent on a secret mission, which he can’t tell Petra anything about, but before he goes he dumps her. Galen believes he is doing the right thing. He wants Petra to move on and be happy without him and not worry if he dies on his mission. Petra is, of course, understandably upset but it doesn’t take her long to get over it. A blast from the past finds Petra at her camp and asks for her help. He needs her ability to see ghosts to see if his colleague was murdered. Petra tries to fight her attraction at first, thinking only of Galen but it doesn’t take her long to give in to past desires. Immortally Embraced was not at all what I thought. Petra’s moved on to another man. Events that I thought were going to happen, didn’t happen. At first, I wasn’t really sure what I thought about her being with another man but as events unfolded I was slowly won over. I have mixed feelings about both men. The new guy is a bit more demanding and forceful with his needs towards Petra than Galen was. He is quite moody too. Petra on the other hand runs the gamut from being almost superwoman to breaking down almost into a stupor. She goes on the mission to speak with the ghost with almost no hesitation (she does question some things) but she risks her life to find out what new superweapon the old gods are building. She no longer questions the oracles and their predictions. But as soon as something goes wrong she breaks down and settles for failure. That was really the only thing that I had a problem with. The mythology in this series is fun, incorporating a lot of little gods I’ve never even heard of. (And I love some mythology.) Although this series doesn’t really spend too much time on any single god or goddess. This series also has kind of an urban fantasy feel as it sticks with just Petra’s first person point of view for both novels. Overall, Immortally Embraced is a fun, dark and humorous novel with some “hot” moments. As much as Petra can be frustrating at times, I really like the supporting cast of characters in this novel and I will definitely check out Immortally Ever After when it hits the shelves in August. Notable Scene: He drew me close and silenced me with a kiss. “I thought I was never going to see you again,” he said, grating against my mouth. I pulled away. “I thought I killed you.” I tried to get my bearings as he slid his hands down my back, cupping my ass. I’d never expected him and I’d never expected this and holy frick I wanted to eat him alive. “Wait,” I gasped as he ground against me, “We can’t do this.” Not again. Yes, he was here, and yes I wanted him, but I had to be strong. His eyes were molten, his breath hitching. “I can’t stop thinking about you.” Which was another reason for me to step away, end the embrace. “What about your goddess?” I asked. “What did you promise her?” Maybe I could pick a fight. I drew my fingers down his arm in the exact same place she had. I wanted to erase her. He hissed. “I want you, Petra.” He eased me back against the lab table. He felt so good. So right. But we had to get one thing straight right away. “I’m not going to sleep with you.” What we had-what we could never have now-was eating me alive. He might be able to separate it, but I couldn’t. He yanked me against him until I could feel him–all of him–hot and heavy against me. “Then just kiss me.” His gaze locked with mine. “There’s never been anyone like you. Never will be.” His words cut into me. I couldn’t take that. I couldn’t open myself to him like that anymore. He kissed me long and hard, until I lost my mind. Until I was wet with it. FTC Advisory: Angie Fox provided me with a copy of Immortally Embraced. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

NY Times Bestselling author Angie Fox’s delivered another must read in her shocking-unreality, Immortal M*A*S*H series. Her storyline mixes her unique sense of paranormal humor with intense, gripping accounts of war and a sizzling, sexy and a bit earthy, romance and is brought to life by her gritty in your face dialogue. Her characters immortal, human and every species in between are fantastically portrayed but it’s her MASH stars that shine.
For me personally, I’m in love with your novels, characters and worlds and I can’t wait to see where you lead me next.
