This novella features childhood friends who have become estranged until Charlotte's attempt to set up James with one of her friends backfires. A cute, fun story. Thank you to Edelweiss and Avon for give me the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
Enter the Regency world of the Writing Girls series in Maya Rodale's charming tale of a scheming lady, a handsome second son, and the trouble they get into when the perfect scandal becomes an even more perfect match. Scheme: A folly, a swan, a little lie . . . a compromising position Lady Charlotte Brandon is always up to something . . . but somehow her best schemes for matchmaking often end in disaster. Scheme: A family feud, outrageously false rumors, a shattered priceless vase . . . an even more compromising position It's no wonder she's considered by at least one devastatingly handsome man to be devious, destructive, and dangerously appealing. Scheme: A fox, a rabbit, a childhood foe, and a dashing rogue . . . the proposal to end all proposals It's high time someone turned the tables on the lovely Lady Charlotte, and James Beauchamp is just the man to do it. Even if it means beating Charlotte at her devious game with a scandalous scheme of his own. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

Our heroine is Lady Charlotte Brandon, sister of the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon. He's the hero from A Groom of One's Own, the 1st book in the series. Charlotte causes trouble, loves matchmaking, and has promised her long suffering brother no more schemes. She doesn't mean any harm but the tale of the "Fashion Disaster of 1825" will be told for a long time. Things backfire a lot.
James Beauchamp is our hero. He's back in London after a 5 year Grand Tour of the continent. He just didn't want to come home. He notices right away that his childhood playmate has grown into a lovely young woman. Things get tricky as they had a falling out for which Charlotte never forgave him.
Charlotte cooks up a scheme (did you think she wouldn't?) to pair James with her "Fashion Disaster" victim. Of course things backfire and James is drawn into an adventure such as he hasn't experienced since childhood. You'll want to pay attention to a cute part of the plot that is revieled along the way. Don't miss it, it's tragic and funny. Who is George Coney? Has anyone read his autobiography? All will be made clear in good time. Happy reading. ( )
