I picked this book up because I was interested to see what version of this story the book told. It's cover showed a picture of a gingerbread man running away from an old woman, a pig and a cow. The illustrations were cartoons and colorful. The story started out with an old man and an old woman baking a gingerbread man who came to life and ran away from them. He ran past a pig, a cow, and a horse until he came to a river. Each time he passed someone he repeated "run, run, as fast as you can. You can't catch me. I'm the Gingerbread man!" When he came to the river he asked a fox to help him across, the fox promised to not eat him, but then tricked him into going onto his nose, then ate him! Everyone was very disappointed after running down the hill after him and not getting to him first. I thought this was very clever, I had never heard this version of the story before. At the end of the book there were ingredients for how to make a Gingerbread Man, which I thought was great. Overall, I liked the book and it was fun and an easy quick read. I think that children would enjoy it. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
