It was fantastic, utterly inspiring and uplifting! I did not know what a great person she is and she is aware that many people may misjudge her. Life is filled with treats and surprises for those of us who voraciously read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ( )

Review: Dream More by Dolly Parton.

The book is about Dolly Parton being a dreamer and making her dream come true. She elaborates on the themes, Dream More, Learn more, Care More, and Be more. The book is more on her philosophy of life written and explained in a very clear, simple and inspiring way. One of her quotes from the book is this, “You’re not going to see your dream come true if you don’t put wings, legs, arms, hands, and feet on’em.” “Celebrate the dreamer in you”, is another one of her statements. She tells her readers, “To never stop dreaming because even if a person may never attain a certain dream, they can certainly keep dreaming”.

Dolly is more than a mega star and entertainer. She has done everything an entertainer can do: she sings, she acts, she is a philanthropist, she is a producer, she is a writer, and she is highly respected. She could write songs before she could talk with her mother writing down the words to her songs as she sang. Dolly Parton is a smart business person that has learned a thing or two about being successful.

The book explains to the reader how Dolly, when faced with pressures in her life and obstacles that were in her way at various times and situations. She dealt with the issues and told how she was able to overcome the hardships she faced and handled difficulties in a better way to be a happier person. One would think a beautiful woman of her social status would have been married a few times but Dolly has been married to the same man for over forty years. With many rumors through the years because of the way Dolly looks, talks, dresses, and being called “White Trash” didn’t hinder her personality at all. She claims her husband loves the way she looks, even with her flirtatious characteristics. That is just the hillbilly in Dolly Parton and she wouldn’t be the famous woman she is today if she was any different. It was an entertaining read….

Dolly Parton is...well just Dolly. She may be thinner, brighter and shinier, and certainly richer than than when she left that little shack in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains but her heart and her ideals remain the same. This is a small book, 122 pages, but it is packed with love and life. Anyone needing or wanting to be uplifted should read this book by the little lady with the mile-wide heart. ( )

Prior to reading this little inspirational memoir by Dolly, all I really knew about her was her botoxed body and the quote, "It takes a lot of money to look this fake." This inspirational guide filled me in on a lot more on who the hell Dolly really is.

First off, I should clarify that I listened to the audiobook version which is narrated by Dolly herself. Second off, this isn't really an inspirational guide as it is a memoir of achievements, so it's really mainly for Dolly fans and not the average listener. She talks a lot about the importance of reading and dreaming but mainly does that so she can talk about her foundations and the work that she's done. Which to be clear, isn't a bad thing or anything. It's just not a guide to achieving your dreams or breaking any barriers.

It wasn't a bad listen (there's lots of songs as well) but thankfully it was only an hour and a half.
