I enjoyed this one. It was fun to read. The characters were very likable. The way it ended tells me that there is more to this story. I hope so, because I want to see how Len and Jim adjust with the changes that have come about in their lives. ( )

Once again, the Author Ryan Field does his Gay Parody thing here,to mixed results. Think a Gay version of THE GRADUATE! Jim Darling { wasn't this the name of the husband in "Lady and The Tramp"? graduates from Princeton and goes back home to Texas, where he dreads everything ahead of him. He’s twenty-one years old, still in the closet, and has never been with a man. Though his father wants him to go to law school so he can join him in his law firm, Jim isn’t so sure that’s what he wants to do.

On Jim’s first night home, during his college graduation party at his mom and dad’s ranch, he runs into his best friend’s dad, Len Mayfield, a rugged, handsome investment banker in his late thirties, who happens to be the Father of Jim's high school crush, Cain Mayfield. Len’s life isn’t much different from Jim’s. He’s been in the closet forever, he’s trapped in a marriage of convenience, and he’s resigned to his circumstances.

That is until Len runs into the grown up version of Jim Darling {GIGGLE} at the graduation party and things start to get a little messy. What happens after that blossoms into something neither of them ever expected. A long seduction leads to an affair.. There’s enough passion,sex, heartache, and frustration to challenge their fragile relationship in more ways than one.

Will Jim Darling{Giggle again} find a way to come clean with his mom and dad so he can find the happiness he’s always wanted? And will Len Mayfield find the courage to finally come out of the closet and walk away from a life that has never made him happy?
Yes it's all very high drama and very little humor.
Yet I found the character of Len very compelling. I guess he represents alot of married Gay men leading a double life.
I reall enjoyed this May/December romance, even with the NOD & WINK to THE GRADUATE. But once the author got past that aspect of the story, he built a slight story into a much surprising tender and powerful love affair between two men.
It seems they were both CHASING happiness and found each other in the process.
But it could have used some of Mr. Field's well known dry wit.
But it is , what it is...and I really loved it.
Right up to the beautiful ending. It was perfect and believable.
Just one last thing.....please, in the future, Mr. Field, think carefully about the choices of names for your characters, JIM DARLING..really? GIGGLE...
