It tells what the fish, crawfish, stones, snails, crabs, etc. go through and what they may be thinking individually. All different life cycles and how they each work. There are 21 different species that are talked about in the poems. The pictures are wonderful and I learned new things about sea life. I absolutely enjoyed all of these poems. I am fascinated with the ocean life, so these poems really captured my attention. The author uses creative words and the illustrations were breath-taking. Young readers will be very curious about the new creatures they will be exposed to throughout these poems. The fish that are written about are not the ones people are normally exposed to. I would read this to my students when discussing the ocean life. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Personal reaction:I loved this book! I am by far not a poetry person. There are so many interesting pictures and the words are even twisted, slanted or sideways in places. I am not sure this would be easy to read in front of a class. It would be easier probably to have in the classroom for students to read on their own.
Extension ideas: this book would be great to use either when doing lessons about sea creatures and fish, descriptive words and teaching students to write descriptively, or even helping them make poetry interesting.
