I liked some chapters: Coming from Gratitude, Honoring Our Pain for the World and A Different Kind of Power. I also appreciated that it is meant to get people to come together to effect change. Many of the visualization and sentence-completion exercises for discussions and journaling seemed trite though. ( ) The challenges we face can be difficult even to think about. Climate change, the depletion of oil, economic upheaval, and mass extinction together create a planetary emergency of overwhelming proportions. Active Hope shows us how to strengthen our capacity to face this crisis so that we can respond with unexpected resilience and creative power. Drawing on decades of teaching an empowerment approach known as the Work That Reconnects, the authors guides through a transformational process informed by mythic journeys, modern psychology, spirituality, and holistic science. This process equips us with tools to face the mess we're in and play our role in the collective transition, or Great Turning, to life-sustaining society. Active Hope is a helpful book to read and consider the personal impact of the current global situations that breed apathy and fatalism. The text has practical tools and practices that are accessible and oriented to cultivating and sustaining ways of being that engender more life. It's not a silver bullet but it's a clear resource that doesn't try to be too rosy. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
