Even today, I find it difficult to not laugh at Jack Prelutsky's comical poems and songs. They are usually paired with funny pictures, and this book does the same. The poems are short and easy to read, and I think that even young readers would be able to follow along with the poems.

I think that the book could have used a little more color, and the illustrations were not always appealing. They seemed to be a jumble of scribbles that I could see some children not enjoying.

Nevertheless, I love the silliness of the poems and feel that is nice, short reading material.

This book was created by using a variety of poems. All of the poems are hilarious and each page is a different poem about a different animal and even some made up creatures. This book can be used to introduce poetry and even as a guide to have children write their own poetry. ( )

This book is filled with funny, entertaining poems for children about all different animals. This could be used in the classroom when talking about poetry and different parts of poetry such as rhyming. I would recommend using this with students in any grade level. ( )
