In my opinion I had a mixed feeling about this book. Over the coarse of this story my opinion waivers from dislike to by the end appreciating the theme. I read this book with my preschools at the daycare for the first time. When I introduced this book to the kids I was unsure what it was going to be about especially when the author started telling the little raccoon to steal and be rude to his peers. Having this book in a 4 year olds classroom is probably not the best idea because it is teaching them not to have the right manors and teaching them to be rude to others. Although, the story continues where the little raccoon choses to not listen to this adults and choses to be kind, polite, and giving. I like how this story teaches students that they have a choice to be who they want to be in life and no one decides that for them. That is how my feelings towards the book changed over time. I do understand that the book was trying to make a point by stating that every raccoon is a bandit so Ralph the raccoon has to be one too but that is necessarily not try. I just didn't like how they made everyone in the story bad; I believe it was a poor illusion to what they were trying to get across. ( )

This is a modern fantasy book about a raccoon who is too polite. In order to make Ralph Raccoon into a better raccoon bandit his parents send him to school. At school Ralph is only supposed to be rude and impolite. However, Ralph has a hard time with this and doesn't do very well in school. Finally as Ralph leaves for winter break his teacher gives his class an assignment to fill up a bag with loot. Ralph uses his politeness to fill his whole bag and becomes the winner and most prized student in class. This book is funny and creative while teaching students an important lesson, it's better to be polite.

Ralph the raccoon is not a normal raccoon that is messy and rude, he is clean and doesn't like to steal. Since he is not a normal raccoon, his parents decide to take him to Bandit School so he can learn how to be a real raccoon. ( )

No well-behaved raccoons live in my neighborhood. Fun story and illustrations. ( )

I absolutely love this book because it teaches manners! Ralph the raccoon isn't like other raccoons because he doesn't like to be messy or steal. He likes to have nice manners and he soons finds out that they pay off too! ( )
