This is a cute and fun book introducing kids to algebra and geometry terms. I enjoyed the way the author made the characters the names of the terms like Even Number and his friend Odd Number, Sine Cosine and Tangent and Polygon and Plane. These are terms I wasn't introduced to until like 3rd grade so to introduce them early and in an easy to learn fashion is an awesome start for kids. If a kid loves numbers this book will not disappoint. I love the visual representation the book has for such complex math concepts. ( )

This book is totally different then what i thought it was. I thought it was more of a lower level book for younger grades but after reading it is much more complex form of numbers that are explained. It is a-lot of information at once so i would recommend reading in sections over days at a time. But u feel us a great addition to a library for students who need more information and breakdowns. 6-up ( )

This book was not very fun to read, it is split up into several chapters: Counting Crew, Number Nuts, Cranium Crackers, Graph Gang, Shape Sisters, Transformation Team, Trig-Athletes, and In the Round. This is a book that a child could use as a dictionary or a source to help them understand and define what it is they are learning. It goes from the types of numbers (Roman and Arabic Numerals) and continues through basic algebraic and geometric vocabulary. It is not meant to be read in one sitting or to just be read from cover to cover in my opinion because it feels like a dictionary with cute pictures. But if it would help my future students by having a different way of communicating mathematical terms, then you would find it in my library. ( )

When I first picked up this book and flipped through it, it looked like a book for very young kids. When reading through the book though, I noticed that the content was pretty high level. I would even use this book in my high school math classes because it talks about Euler's number, sine and vectors.

The organization of this book is adequate. My favorite part is how at the bottom of each page there are three fun facts about the topic of that certain page. It usually includes a short history and two other fun facts. This book also has a very nice glossary and index in the back.

I do not have many complaints about this book, sometimes I did question the pictures used. For example, on the cosine page, there is a picture of a graph that is not a cosine graph. It is similar to the cosine graph, but not a perfect one. Overall, this can be a very useful book. ( )

This book is written in narrative format, starting with an introduction to history of mathematics. The chapters are organized with the progression of development of math, starting from number theory to modern geometry to trigonometry. This book also has great examples. Every page has a colored illustration of the concept discussed. This makes the book visually pleasing. ( )
