Confetti: Poems for Children is a wonderful collection of poems relating to south west America, Hispanic culture, and the natural world around us. I like this book because its filed with poems that beautifully paint a picture of nature with words with poems like Dancing paper and River Voice. There are plenty of poems that show that it's important to appreciate nature. ( )

Confetti Poems for children is a fun colorful book of poems that give you a little taste of the Hispanic culture. There are fun poems that are mostly English with a little bit of Spanish words throughout them. The poems are fun and about the sun, wind, parties, and food.

I really enjoyed this book of poems. The poems were not very long which are good for children, they were fun and upbeat. I read this book to my children and they really enjoyed the poems.

I would read some poems from this book when we are celebrating different cultures in our classroom. We would have a day where we studied the Hispanic culture and I would share the poems during that time.

Something that I found very interesting about this collection of poems is that although they were written in majority English, there are also some Spanish phrases in the book. I think this bilingual approach makes this book perfect for an English Language Learner class or for students who want to learn to speak Spanish. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful, and they help the reader to understand what is going on in the poem. There is also a glossary at the end of the book, where the reader can learn the English translation of the Spanish words used in the book. I really enjoyed this book, and I would love to have it in my classroom library! ( )

Confetti is full of fun, colorful pictures and poetry that children will just adore. Not only does it introduce children to bits and pieces of the Spanish language, but the Mexican culture as well. Introducing children to foreign life styles and traditions is so important in helping children and adults alike understand all people are people and not just demographics. Humanizing humans especially in this current state of affairs is one of the most important things any form of media can do. We need to spread the idea that no one organization or group of people is purely evil. If we could only see each other more complexly and treat each other more kindly, the world would be a happier place. ( )

Confetti - Poems for Child, is a collection of poems by Pat Mora and illustrations by Enrique O. Sanchez. The character goes about activities of her daily life. The poems are representations of her life. But the biggest thing about the poems are the description of how she perceives the world. She sees vivid colors when walking around bushes with birds or shapes in the night sky. The author makes use of her language to add a new layer to the poems. This language along with her culture and the vivid images can help children see what other cultures are like. ( )
