A complete nonsense book of poems from the mind of Edward Lear. One must have an open imagination and the will to put themselves through countless stanzas of pure nonsense. Despite not making any lick of sense the poem book is full of fun for anyone of any age.I may enjoy this just as much as a nine year old child but at the same time a 13 year old might think it's utterly ridiculous. This book is merely what you make of it. ( )

I love the illustrations in this book. They are super colorful and fun. It does have some complicated vocabulary so I would aim this book more towards older kids like 4th or 5th grade. It has nonsense words and is very fun to read, especially for poetry. ( )

Very colorful and whimsical book. The vocabulary is a bit more complicated than I would pick for younger grades and there are references to items that are not used in the US that might confuse my students. ( )

We took this out of the library but may have to purchase it for ourselves. We keep renewing it and have read it many times over! Calef Brown's illustrations make Lear's poetry even more brilliant and fun to read. ( )
