Sydneysider, and lifelong North Sydney Bears rugby league fan, Peter Lewis was so disgruntled by the "Superleague War" in Australian rugby league, that he decided on a whim to become a member of the Sydney Swans, who compete in not only a rival competition, but a completely different sport. He would give it a year, learn what he could about the game and the club, and see what would happen.
He picked a really good year (1996) to make the change.
