I received this book in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley via Beyond the Page Publishing.

Annmarie Weston is an up and coming fashion designer who just landed herself a big account. As her deadline draws close for her designs to be done a little hiccup happens when construction starts up next door. The girls get distracted when the temperature rises and the construction workers take their shirts off. To make matters worst Annmarie finds herself attracted to the foreman. When she has finally had enough of the girls not working because of the shirt less worker at the site. She goes over to talk to the foreman and that's when things really heat up between them.

Nick Marone is the foreman on the construction site. And the man that is making it hard for Annmarie to sleep at night. They have this very explosive relationship that will more than likely combust when/if the give in to it. Will they be able to overcome their past to have a future?

This book was okay. It was not what I was expecting from Kate. I have read a couple of her Wolf Tales books and I loved them. But all in all it was a good book. I can't wait to read other books by Kate. I recommend this book to others. ( )

Nick and her crew are working on rehabing a building directly beside Annmarie's shop. And on hot days, when he and his crew lose, their shirts, Annmarie also loses her help's attention. Although Annmarie suffers the same problem herself, she can't afford to allow her crew to slow down any more and meet her lastest deadline.

Even though sparks fly for the first time meeting Nick, she plays it off. (The blame game, if you will.) But once she is ready to admit she is a as willing as he is, will it be too late.

Insta-attraction I get, it's the insta-love that's a turn off. Too fast! And I didn't really like Annmarie, no connection with her and not much with Nick.

I didn't enjoy this read. I did finish reading it but I had to make myself.

This novel was sent to me by Kate because of my "squeamishness" with Wolf Tales. It's set in Boston , one of my favorite cities.

The main characters in this novel are quite interesting. Annmarie Weston is a 34 year old women's fashion designer trying to make her mark with a popular department store chain. She went to boarding school in Switzerland, and trained in fashion in France. She is the daughter of a wealthy businessman, and her parents are considered "Upper Crust". Her business, workroom, and home are housed in one building! She has hired ten young women from a local women's shelter to sew her business wear designs, and a deadline for a huge contract looms. She notices in the middle of a very warm day her workroom is silent. Her assistant, her VERY pregnant best friend, explains it's the temperature. When pushing for more answers, Jean pulls her through the workroom to their fire escape. There all ten of her girls are staring at the building next door. A parade of shirtless, sweaty, very hunky men in cut offs are working on renovations to the building next door. As soon as the temperature rises, the t-shirts come off...to the delight of her workers. The boss, as we soon find out is Nick Marone (Building God), per Annmarie. He started out as a lowly carpenter and through talent and determination is the owner of his own company. He is very protective of his heart, after being treated by a social "princess" as a gigolo. It's been ten years, and he can't forget. Annmarie has no sort of romantic knowledge. She has very little experience sexually, and no sex at all for the last five years, and she is frequently reminded of this by Jean.

There is a reluctant, instant attraction, and... let the games begin!!! There banter back and forth is a riot, their lovemaking is HOT, STEAMY, and frequent. There are a couple sub plots that are very enjoyable, and truly add to the fun of the story.

I didn't want this story to end, and I only touched on the action. No Spoilers here. I will say it made me laugh, get very hot and bothered, and even brought a tear to my eyes. I would have to give this book a breathless FIVE stars....As you can tell, I loved it....more Kate, please? ( )
