Organizational, tactical, and doctrinal characteristics of the British Army tank force in North Africa are covered in great detail considering its 48 page length. strategical success of the North African campaign - they who controlled Tobruk, Halfaya Pass, and El Alamein held the key to North Africa itself. This is a reprint of Bryan Perrett's wonderful little glimpse at British armored warfare in the desert. It serves several useful functions. First, there is a great chronology at the beginning of the book. Then it is moves on to share the nature of armored operations, particularly the author's criticism of dispersion tactics, followed on by what followed under Montgomery. There is an excellent sidebar that provides organizational information at El Alamein. The plates are very good and supported by excellent description.
